sorry haven't been writing new entries for the past 2 weeks cos was very busy with sch and church things then didn't have time to write...
well it was sch, home, church for most of the past 2 wks, except last fri which was our sch D&D. it was held at hotel rendezvous... its a 4 star hotel and although the ambience was great, the food issit that great. think it's becos of budget problems so can't get too ex stuffs... usually d&d cost $50 but ours only $29.90 so can't blame it, but we have a good time together...
this week was even worst, got is the lab week so have to prepare the log book, and on thurs spent almost 4 hrs to do the logic logbook until i have to miss the crusade crossroads, so its quite bad. hopefully this week won't. now is the java programming still stuck at dunno what place and it seems like an endless thing to do and the thing is never going to end with all the errors...
today we had a food fair in church to raise fund for the camp and my cell is selling fried rice. at first got fried bee hoon but somehow roger forget to cook it so in the end we just sell fried rice lor. haha. the other cells also got sell things like burger, sushi, dessert, etc... and we have a great time of fellowship together, that's the most important thing...
and its 16 Sep today, which means that its counting down 100 days to Christmas. wow time really flies and we're near the festive seasons again. hari raya and moon cake festival has already started. but now have to mug for the tutorials, labs and exams first and the exams is going to last till end of nov, and dec going back to NS from 3 dec to 6 jan. confirm liao. faster clear and forget it lor. and luckily next wk is the 1 wk break so finally can take a break. will be going to bintan from fri to sun for the pulse youth leaders retreat...

COMEX 2007
just came back from comex after all the squeezing and kncoking around there. cos too many ppl liao then keep knocking into other ppl here and there. bought a printer and a 2.5 inch hard disk to store photos when i go overseas... should be better then my prevoius one which uses USB. this one directly insert the card into the system. but so far can't figure out how to change the format to FAT32. now it's at NTFS which i can't use it here and i can't seems to change it from the com...
miss the lunar eclipse on tues as it rained the entire day so there was lots of mist in the sky and we can't see the moon :( managed to finish the java lab1 with my friends help then now still struggling with lab 2. and tue is the lab test. its a suicidal thing and think it's going nuts. and heard from my friend that its a sure fail kind of thing...
tmr got 3 different tutoiral as 1 of them is a makeup from the one we missed on union day. still have not done 2 of them and its almost midnight and i still need to do some programming... think may ended up going there with empty piece of paper...

its only the 3rd week in sch, but already starting to feel the stress liao...... but this is mainly cause by the programming module, the java programming. the rest i can still read and understand it, but the programming can really make me go crazy.
spend most of the last week doing the programming lab. and it's just lab 1 and already like that. getting stuck here and there. wonder how to survive the next 8 lab. the 1st lab is due on tue and still got quite alot of errors here and there now. think is maybe becos i didn't have java background and yet i'm exempted from the introduction module. so i'm put into the more advance module straight away...
on thurs went for the crusade afternoon event cos it was union day so there was no lesson from 1130 to 1430. in the evening went for the concert engineer welcome tea. luckily its not one that need so much commitment and mainly just ad hoc basis. so just go to learn how to operate the PA system...
now watching the campus superstar final... wonder who can be the grand champion. shawn or keely? well, i'm netural but shawn may have higher chance as he got lots of supporter. so wait for the results in 1/2 hrs time...

Welcome Week 2007
sorry had been busy for the past week although its still the 2nd week, but already got quite alot of things to do...
it was NTU freshmen welcome week last week and we had IT fair, CCA fair, carnival.... yup on monday i bought the new fujitsu laptop E8410 for like $2467 but its already quite cheap compared to outside. took almost 2 hrs to buy it and in the end missed one lecture cos the queueing time was much longer then expected...
as for CCA i put my name in quite a few, like concert engineer, guitarist, astronomy, campus cruasde, photography... but of course can't join all la, just put name only. confirm joing CCC then the rest dunno yet...
for lesson wise 3 tutorials started last wk but no labs yet. but i'm already starting to feel the uni workload and stress liao. faces alot of problems when solving the tutorials and always can't get the correct answers on 1st attempt :( sianz... this week the full swing will start so i got to be mentally prepared, if not may get a heart attack :p

After 1 week in NTU...
it has been a week since i started lessons in NTU, and so far so good... the whole of last week only got lectures so quite free, plus thurs is national day holiday so in total only had a few hours of lessons...
for this week some of the tutorial will start but not all, the rest plus lab will start next week. this week will have CCA fair, IT fair, library orientation, etc. still fumming about whether to buy the laptop from sch, cos all the models i saw either this not good or that not good and cannot find any perfect ones. tmr go see the show then see how lor... as for CCA i'll join campus crusade but still thinking if whether to join a second one but i doubt so cos i dun think i'll have enough time
as for the national day all of us didn't get the tickets to watch at marina :( then one of my SPCCC staff grandma passed away, so some of us went to the wake instead. quite a big difference in the atmosphere between the two side. but those schedule is planned by god so just thank him for whatever he planned as he know best what to give to us...

1st 2 days in NTU
it has been 2 days since i start sch in NTU, and can say that currently it's still not bad but its still the honeymoon week so hard to say. this week only got lecutres so there's alot of free time but spend most of it looking at computers and thinking which one to buy. still havent' decide whether to buy in sch or wait till comex...
i think from week 3 onwards the stress will start to come in with all the lab assigments and reports, esp the programming one which can make me crazy... think must start studying that one myself first.
the sianz thing is all the electives that i want all full liao. i think the seniors took it liao as they have priority so i think most likely have to take econs. the rest i think have to wait till next sem...
and another disappointed thing is that we can't get the ndp tickets after all.. at first on sunday my friend actually got some tickets which he can give to us but somehow i think things screw up so i think he can't get the tickets out or wat i dunno la, but now i think all of us have to revert back to watching the parade on TV. :(

NTU Orientation, Disrupt from NS, Festival of Praise (FOP)
just came back from the FOPit has been a week full of activities since wed, with the ntu orientation from wed to fri then went for the FOP on sat and sun... had been outside most of the time for the pass few days and sch is officially starting in like... 7 hours??? yup its true...
on thurs we had the ntu college of engineering orientation talk where i got a better understanding on how the sch system work, then at night got pulse talk in church which ended only abt 2300h
on fri there was a freshmen welcome ceremony in ntu... mine was in the morning session then after that went back to PLAB to take back the Pink IC! but not ORD yet... only disrupt and still have to serve the 35 days. at night got worship practice...
on sat went for the FOP with zhi qiang. we reached there at abt 1730h so still got quite a good seat. it was full house and totally pack and i think there's still ppl outside when its full. it ended only at abt 2240h and everyone rushes out to take the bus... i think the organistation is very bad as there's no queue for the bus and everyone just rush to the road when the bus comes. so waited for like 40 mins before we manage to got up a bus.. the worst thing there is they use private bus so cannot get too many ppl to stand so there's a waste of space...
then today also went to the FOP after church. there's lesser ppl today and there's no queue and we could just go in after reaching. i went with roger but we reach there quite late. luckily there's ppl who booked seats for us so we could get good seats also. and he drive there so we can avoid squeezing for the bus and just drive seamlessly out. after that went to old airport road for supper. there got a wonton mee store which ppl said is very good. yup i try that and it's really good. but must wait for quite long and they give u a number when u order then when they call your number then u go collect.
now ntu lesson is officially starting in less than 7 hrs... luckily mine monday is start at 1130h so can wake up later tmr. very tired now from the lack of sleep for the pass few days. going to slp soon...

QET
went to NTU today for the QET and it's the same format as the pass year paper, which is to write an essay of 250-300 words. but i think i wrote abt 400+ words but like only use less than 1/2 of the paper they provide. if use all i think can be abt 100 words liao...
basically just have that today and i also went to collect the ezlink card and hand in the Giro form which i think i've miss the deadline liao cos its not written on the website and i didn't see the booklet for quite sometime... for the ezlink i still haven't activate yet cos my NS concession pass still valid till 8 Aug, after that then i buy from the student one which is $9 cheaper...
tmr will have orientation talk and i think i'll be useful as now still quite blur in some of the things and hopefully can solve tmr if not do wrong things then got big prob liao..

New Nokia 6110 Handphone
the clock now is 16 mins to 300707... 1000 secs more to the date i've been counting since 730 days ago... NTU!!!!!!!
just bought a new handphone from the singtel fair at suntec city, a Nokia 6110... it has a GPS function and also includes a singapore map in it so it can detect where you are. As for the other functions i have not use it yet so i dunno about it yet, now still transfeering contact numbers in it if not then u all sms me i won't know who is it except for those very familiar number lor... write more after i've more familiar with it
before that in the afternoon went to university culture centre to watch a musical"Love Above All". its presented by mt carmel BP church and the musical is about god and forgiveness...
yest evening also went to suntec to check out the phone... then at there saw some of my NS friends in the GOH as their resting place is at suntec. the best is when i was going there just i alight the bus i saw the singapore flag flying pass with chinnok helicopter, its the real one for the preview and also hear the national anthem and the 21-gun salute. after that went to marina square to catch the fireworks and took photos of it to send for competition. just send lor by email but i dun think will win cos there're so many ppl taking photos and the chances are really small...

NTU CCC FOC
just came back from the ntu crusade freshmen camp... it was a 3 days 2 nights camp but there's only planned activities for the first 2 days... the last day was just for checking out and admin stuff...
had made quite a number of friends from the camp, all my fellow bro and sis in christ... and was quite close to a few. yup, had there's many games which requires team work and bring us closer to one another... and really thank god for the weather cos for this week it rained quite alot on mon, thurs and fri but i didn't really rain at all on tue and wed where we have the camp and outdoor activites, yeah god is really GOOD!
as for the accom we stayed in hall 4, and after staying there can say that luckily i didnt stay in the hall... cos i prefer to stay alone and with air con which they dun offer to yr 1. and the toilets and bed is worse then my camp one... the mattress is quite hard and the heater for shower is not working properly, and the fan is directly on top of the study table which can make me headache...
for the food wise the food provided in the camp wasnt that great, like same standard as SFI. but the food in canteen 2 & A was great... haha! i think going to frequent these 2 canteens more, and canteen A got mac! haha but cant eat that often also... then on the 2nd night after supper we went to the coffeeshop opp ntu at around blk 908 to eat roti prata till abt 1am then after that talk till abt 4.30am then slp for less then 4 hrs...
then after checking out went clementi to eat botak jones, just got intro to that last fri then eat a 2nd time with anothe grp of ppl just 6 days later, haha! then after that went to play pool but i left at 5pm cos i was very tired... the cos we sent the bags to clementi by car then somehow forgot to take down the file so it was brought to the person house... but thank god managed to get it back today as most of my QT stuff and bible are in it...

6 days to NTU, 13 days to official start of lesson...
the countdown clock says 6 days to NTU... yup, 6 more days to 300707 which i've started counting since 2005 when it was still 730 days away... 300707 is the orientation week then 13 more days to 060807 which is the start of lessons...
going for NTUCCC freshmen camp from tue to thurs and hopefully can make new fellow bros and sis and get closer to God!

Swimming
yesterday went swimming with some of my NS friends... it's also the first time i went swimming since dunno when... yup really long nv go swimming liao...
before swimming we went to clementi for lunch at botak jones... it's on the other side of clementi mrt, not the central side... it's really good, esp the fries... yummy! haha... then while we were eating there's someone got knock down by mrt at clementi station but we didnt see it... by the time we finish eating train service has resume...
so we took bus 185 to jurong east swimming pool... there got some renovation but its mainly the children's section... so we go to the lazy river and the wave pool... but sadly it started to rain only about 1 1/2 hr after we start so have no choice but to come out... it was raining quite heavily and there's lighting and its cold too as our towel is in the locker so we decided not to wait anymore and to get change...so we didnt get the full enjoyment of swimming but manage to have interaction with one another as i dunno if we still got chance like this after we ORD...

Combat shoot & FFI
we just had our combat shoot on mon and tue and sad to say is that none of us got marksman... this's mainly caused by the night shoot cos at night its so difficult to see the target that u don't even know where to aim... in the imt on mon everything was well and most of us score more than 20 of 30... but the actual live round wasn't that good...
the weather on tue was quite good as compare to other days... not too hot and not raining... but it's still quite humid... then at there bought quite alot of things from the ninja van and the SFI food there is better then ours so ended up eating lots of things and i think the last 2 weeks of eating less are all gone liao... worse is we still eat macdonalds at night after coming back to camp and eat till abt 1am, and we each got 2 packet of fries cos the first one wasnt very good so we call to complain and they send a new one here... but we still eat the old one so eat 2 packet lor... haha :p
then yest and today did all the clearence and FFI and thank god all are done liao... now only left those which can only be sign on the last day... but the worse thing now is we still havent really confirm when is our last day, although the disrupt is approve liao...

had experience something which is not good and nobody would like to have it... sounds quite bad and yup, this afternoon went to NUH with some of my church ppl cos one of our brother fracture his shin while playing soccer so we went to visit him... but beside him we also got visit another two more ppl... they are from the elder generation and one of them is our youth pastor's dad... so is like going around the hospital to see 3 ppl... and there's lots of links inside and we almost got lost...
but really thank god that all 3 of them are recovering well and are all in stable condition... pray that they'll recover well and will be able to discharge soon...
